MEET ELISHA
Mrs. Elisha D. Brown first discovered America in Detroit Michigan on Feb 24th 1980. She was born to Eld. Lorris Upshaw Jr, and Deborah Upshaw. Her father, Pastor Lorris Upshaw Jr., described her as a dear child who was very peculiar and always very reverent. She was raised in New Christ Temple COGIC, where her Grandfather Adm. Asst. Lorris Upshaw Sr. served as Pastor/Teacher. He dedicated her to the Lord and 20 years later performed her marriage ceremony. She was always different, as a child having a longing for the altar, wanting more of God’s presence till the point where she was even told one Sunday by a leader that she did not have to go to the altar every week. Her adolescent years brought about difficulties and challenges which began to break her and become the catalyst for her ministry. Since then, that longing to be closer to God has been the sentiment of her being and evolved into a life of intercession.
Pressing past challenges she excelled in math and science and went on to receive a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University. Her husband (Min. Dameon A. Brown) started courting her in 1998 with the permission of her father. Since the first date she knew she never wanted to be apart, their hearts were in the same place and together wanted to please God with their lives. Married on March 25th 2000, three children were born (Salah D. Brown, Dameon A. Brown Jr, and Elisha E. Brown), she started a new journey teamed up with her new family and immediately began to experience new levels of spiritual growth. She was groomed at Stephen Temple COGIC under Supt. Theodore Colbert as a worship leader and an intercessor. She purposed in her heart to perfect the principles that would produce a woman, wife, and mother who builds a home where the presence of the Lord lives. The Holy Spirit regularly deals with her through prophetic & insightful dreams to share with men and woman everywhere. A woman of GREAT FAITH she walks in the manifestation of healings through her decrees and prayers.
Her intimacy and relationship with the Lord thrust her into songwriting and as her husband heard these melodies he IMMEDIATELY signed her with Righteous Antidote as a song writer! With the gift of intercession, her prayer life began to move in a fresh and new way. She shares these experiences as a lighthouse to openly encourage others with prayers/psalming outloud, dreams, and words of encouragement through her weekly post “Life Lessons With Lish”. In addition to ministry she works as an electrical engineer for General Motors as well as freelance modeling.
